Add Shadows
Shadows can be applied to images, clipart, fill boxes and text. To add a shadow, select the object and click the Shadow button in the right-hand menu. A column will appear with various shadow adjustment tools and preset options.
Colour: To select a specific colour for the shadow, click the Colour box and choose from the options shown, or click Colour selection to select a custom colour.
Opacity: Sets the opacity of the shadow.
Angle: Changes the angle of the shadow with respect to the object.
Distance: Changes the distance of the shadow from the object.
Blur: Change the intensity of the shadow’s blur effect. Increasing the Blur value will make the shadow more blurry, decreasing it will make the shadow sharper.
Knockout: Makes only the shadow visible, making the object itself invisible.
As well as creating a basic shadow, you can use these tools to get creative. For example, you can adjust the colour and blur of the shadow to add a touch of colour to the background of a clipart. Or you can enhance the visual impact of an image by applying a fascinating glow effect.
The Knockout can be useful to visualise the appearance of the shadow or to create transparent shapes and text.
To disable the shadow, simply uncheck Activate shadow in the top menu of the right menu.
