Backgrounds

Backgrounds can be added to your photo products. Unlike fill boxes, backgrounds are not objects that can be moved or resized but are embedded as the background of the photo product. The different options for setting the background are displayed by clicking on the Background button in the menu on the right.

At the top of the Background menu you will find the Delete button to delete the background from your photo product. For multipage products, such as Photo Books, clicking Apply to all pages will apply the background to all pages of the photo product. Clicking Delete all will remove all used backgrounds.
It’s important to note that backgrounds are applied to both sides of a multipage photo product. If you want to customise the background for a single page, you’ll need to add a fill box and configure it to your liking.

Like the fill boxes, the backgrounds can be selected and configured as Colour Gradient and Texture. You can also select Image for backgrounds. When this option is selected from the Background menu, the Select photo button appears. Clicking this button opens a folder on your device to select a background image.

Once selected, the photo will be placed as the background. The Image tab of the Background menu provides options for configuring the background image.

With the Opacity field you can set how transparent or opaque the image appears. If you click on the button Adjust cropping, a menu with cropping tools for the background image is displayed. Similar to other images, you can perform various actions:

• Reposition the image by clicking on the button with the cross.
• Enlarge or reduce the image using the magnifying glass icons.
• Activate or deactivate the image enhancement with the magic wand button.
• Mirror the image horizontally or vertically.
• Rotate the image by 90 degrees by clicking on the corresponding buttons.
• Delete the image if necessary.
• You can also check the status of the picture quality in this menu. For best results, we recommend setting the picture quality to very good.

Alternative method for using images as a background

It is possible to add images directly from the left column as a background. Right-clicking on any image in this menu will display several options. Clicking on As background will add the selected image as a background to the photo product.

If the image has already been placed in the photo product, right-click on it to see all the options available. Click on Use image as background image to make the image the background of the photo product.

To access the cropping tools menu, double-click on the background image, or open the Background menu in the right column, select the Image tab, and click on the Adjust cropping button.
